About Us

We’ve been designing and making jewellery since 1999, and we still design and make almost everything in our own workshops in England.

Tatty Devine is Rosie Wolfenden and Harriet Vine

Tatty Devine is Rosie Wolfenden and Harriet Vine (here we are dressed as chips and sauce!). We set up the company in 1999, and still run it completely independently. Tatty Devine has become a cult classic of British fashion with its witty, offbeat designs.

We still design every piece, and 99% of the jewellery is made by hand in Tatty Devine's own workshops (one in London and one in Kent). Each year, two main collections are launched at London Fashion Week.

Tatty Devine have two London boutiques: one on Brick Lane and one in Covent Garden. The Brick Lane boutique was one of the first ever fashion boutiques on London's famous Brick Lane, opening in 2001. Time Out London named it "Best Small and Beautiful Shop" and the public voted it one of the "Best for Women's Fashion" category in The Telegraph's Best Small Shops in Britain awards. The Covent Garden boutique was launched in 2009 with a ceremonial parade through central London, from the small Soho space it previously occupied. Watch the video of the parade here. It has since been named one of the "Ten best shops in west London" by The Guardian.

There are over 100 Tatty Devine stockists worldwide (Contact us to find your nearest one, or to become a stockist). Popular in Japan, America, Australia and Europe, Tatty Devine has always attracted people with their own unique sense of style.

It's no surprise that the jewellery often looks more like art, as Harriet and Rosie met on Chelsea School Of Art's Fine Art degree course. We found some bags of leather samples on the street one night, and after graduating used the leather to create wrist cuffs which soon sold out every week at Portobello and Spitalfields markets. Harvey Nichols and Browns began to stock Tatty Devine, and Vogue shot their first collection on Erin O'Connor and John Galliano for the Millennium issue.

One of Tatty Devine's most recognisable pieces are the custom-made Name Necklaces in bright acrylic, which have been worn by everyone from Claudia Schiffer to Jessie J. They began life as Christmas presents for friends in 2004, and you can now design your own Name Necklace to be made in Tatty Devine's London workshop.

Perspex silhouettes are Tatty Devine's signature style, but you'll also find pieces created in textiles, wood, leather, veneer and enamel. We are continually developing new techniques to produce unique and exciting designs.

Tatty Devine loves to collaborate with other creative people, whether they work in art, music or fashion. We were one of the first designers to collaborate with the high street when we created a collection for New Look back in 2003 (at the same time we also worked with avant-garde girl group Chicks on Speed). Ashish, Peter Jensen and Basso & Brooke have all turned to Tatty Devine for statement catwalk pieces, and pieces have been created especially for Rob Ryan, Tate, Selfridges and Gilbert & George.

Rankin shot a dress covered in Tatty Devine brooches to celebrate 25 years of London Fashion Week, and Dazed & Confused magazine list Tatty Devine as one of the top 50 coolest brands in the world.

"We're proud to represent British design around the world," says Rosie. And, as Tatty Devine continues to grow from a grassroots DIY company into a worldwide brand, Harriet adds "we've always been motivated by fun and independence."
