Grab your diary, you really don’t want to miss the British Film Institute‘s spellbinding new Gothic season! Over the coming months, this nation-wide season will lift the lid on this dark storehouse of the imagination, which found its heart in Britain and came to life on film.
We’ve joined up with the BFI to celebrate the arrival of the spine tingling season. Head along to their shop on the Southbank to find a handpicked selection of suitably spooky Tatty Devine jewellery, including our Aarrghhhh Necklace and Cat Ring. Exciting news: our new Glitter Bat Necklace has flown into the BFI shop exclusively for Gothic season! This hauntingly beautiful necklace will launch in store and online in October, but you can be the first to get your hands on it at the BFI from Friday 30th August.
We’re giving film fanatics the chance to celebrate the launch of the season with a gruesomely good giveaway! We have a pair of tickets to the screening of The Mummy (1958) on Saturday 31st August in the magnificent forecourt of the British Museum. Want to be in with the chance of winning tickets?
To enter our competition, simply tell us who you would take with you to the spooky screening!
This competition has now closed. Congratulations to our winner, Nariece:
“Dracula hasn’t been replying to my texts so I think there’s little reception in his castle. A shame really, I doubt he’d make it this time to the screening. Instead I’d have to bring my friend who loves dressing in gothic and steampunk attire. Also she is obsessed with Batman. Not as good as Dracula though.”
Nariece’s entry made us cackle at our desks! We also loved the idea of runner up Kim and her dream guest:
…….I would take Richard O’Brien. So we could sing a duet while waiting for the movie to start…
”…Oh-oh at the late night, double feature, picture show.
I wanna go, oh-oh, to the late night double feature picture show.
By RKO, oh-oh, at the late night double feature picture show.
In the back row at the late night double feature picture show….”
(Honestly? I would probably take my boyfriend, because I love him).
