Happy National Chip Week!

Happy National Chip Week!
It's our favourite time of the year! No, not London Fashion Week... it's National Chip Week. The humble spud has long been an inspiration for Tatty Devine. Our web team can't get through the week without a rousing chorus of 'Chippy Tea' by the Lancashire Hotpots and we've even been known to sneak down to East End institution Poppies for a Friday lunch treat... it's just been named the Best Independent Fish and Chips Restaurant in the UK!  Our love affair is so strong that Rosie and Harriet even dressed up in a daring ketchup and chips costume combo for a photo shoot, all the way back in 2010! Join us as we take a trip down memory lane and revisit all the chip-inspired jewellery we've made over the years. Warning: you will definitely need a chippy tea by the end of this post... Back in Autumn Winter 2004, the chip made its first appearance in the form of a necklace. An uber realistic moulded rubber chip was speared with a Perspex chip fork and hung from a silver chain. If we had a coat of arms, it might look something like this... In 2010, blogger Sarah Betty snapped Harriet outside our Brick Lane store with her home made GIANT Chip Fork Bag, which originally accompanied her chips costume. If you're listening, Mulberry, we can definitely see this in your AW14 collection...! Our Spring Summer 2010 collection took a trip to the seaside and naturally, that meant indulging our passion in a series of cute laser cut wooden pieces, like this Necklace and Brooch: We even made a Chip Fork Barrette, too! Sometimes, you just have to spell it out! This playful Chips Necklace was laser cut from colour pop yellow Perspex and designed in homage to our favourite snack: When it comes to foodie fashion, offbeat label The Rodnik Band can't be beat! We love their sequinned Ham Bag, so we leapt at the chance to create this chip-tastic crown just for them: In 2012, we teamed up with gift subscription service, Not Another Bill, to create a limited edition Chip Fork Necklace in glimmering matt gold Perspex. Can you imagine how lovely it would be to receive this cheeky treat through the post? In 2012, we took things up to a luxurious level with very special dinky Chip Fork Necklace. This shining fork was laser cut in precious sterling silver to last forever - just like our love for chips! Phew, that's it - for now! Do you have any of this tasty jewellery in your collection? Psst! We're on the hunt for the best chippie in the land - what's your top tip?
