If you want a plant with a sunny disposition, pick one from the sunflower family. The humble marigold is a classic English flower, with daisy leaves and a dark centre a bit like a liquorice allsort. They're made from golden yellow perspex, curved by hand into gentle domes. The flower's centre is represented by a shiny black plastic gem.
