In olden times, Irish guys didn't just rely on their pretty accents to woo us. They used their design skills, too. Ladies were often courted with love tokens like the Claddagh ring. The heart symbolises love, the hands mean friendship, and the crown completes the package with loyalty. The name 'Claddagh' comes from the village where it all started. The jewellery was worn to signify whether you were in love, and you have to agree - it's far prettier than a Facebook relationship status update.
We've redesigned this traditional token in matt gold and red perspex for contemporary courtship. Elegant hands clasp a ruby red heart topped with a twinkling crown. It's embellished with a sparkling red gem heart, and studded with Swarovski crystals. Oh, and because you're a modern lady, you don't have to wait for an Irish chap to buy it for you, either. Hand on heart.
