Celebrating with the British Fashion Council in Paris
There's no better time to head to Paris than during Fashion Week. We took a trip across the Channel to showcase our forthcoming A/W13 collection (exciting!) and explore the stylish city after dark. Join us as we take you on a whirlwind Parisian expedition. The best part? You don't even need your passport...
This beautiful traditional carousel reminded us of one of our favourite films, Amélie:
"Bone-jour!" This furry fashionista was hitching a ride around town: One day, we'd like to learn how to make pretty pastel macarons of our own: Our trip wasn't all cake, cute dogs and sight seeing. On Thursday, we headed to the British Fashion Council's reception to celebrate British designers in Paris, including Anya Hindmarch, Erdem and Christopher Kane. Sir Peter Ricketts, the British Ambassador to France, hosted the party in recognition of the high calibre of British fashion design: "London has always been renowned for originality and it’s fascinating to see how this talent translates into highly successful fashion businesses...I am so pleased to be able to play my part in this success story and in encouraging the growing recognition being given to British design excellence here in France and further afield.” We loved the opulent surroundings of the British Embassy. Crystal chandelier anyone? We were surprised to find Her Majesty herself guarding the cloakroom: Harriet was so carried away in conversation, she missed the magnificent banquet featuring the best in British produce. Luckily, Paris specialises in late night snacks! Say hello to her gigantic triple cheese crêpe: Ooh, la la! The crêpe shop owner took a shine to Harriet and asked to take her photograph. Well, they do say Paris is the city of love... Hmm, we're not sure photography is his strong point!
