Feminist Fun: IWD 2023

Our favourite day of the year is here: it’s International Women’s Day! Galvanised by 2023’s theme, #EmbraceEquity we’re calling on YOU to join us in challenging gender stereotypes, calling out discrimination, drawing attention to bias and seeking inclusion, while celebrating the amazing women and folks who make the world go round.

Looking for a female-founded brand to support this International Women’s Day? Read on for celebratory crafting, best-selling feminist jewellery and charitable collaborations that support women’s causes this March and beyond.

Flex your work-womanship skills with a jewellery making experience! We’re bringing our jewellery-making workshops to Bournemouth: for one day only join Tatty Devine Co-Founder, Rosie Wolfenden MBE and get your craft on with our International Women’s Day-inspired Mini Suffragette Bunting Necklace workshop on Saturday 11th March!

Don’t miss out: book your place now!

Choose from a pick 'n' mix of mirrored, glitter and printed laser cut acrylic flags in iconic Suffragette colours, before learning how to hand link them all together to create a bespoke necklace. We firmly believe community blooms from craft and you never know, you might leave with a whole host of like-minded new friends!

Spot our handmade feminist banners in GIANT Gallery!

The perfect way to celebrate International Women’s Day, once you’ve put your jewellery-making skills to the test, take a jaunt around the Bournemouth gallery’s exhibition of feminist art which pairs artists from the 70s and 80s with contemporary creatives, from Louise Bourgeois and Guerilla Girls to Tai Shani and Rosie Gibbens.

WOW! Women of the World Festival is back for 2023 and we’re so excited. Find Team Tatty at London’s Southbank Centre on 11th and 12th of March for the feminist event of the year - we’re still reeling from last year’s antics…

“There is nowhere I'd rather have been this weekend than at the WOW festival, being surrounded by women all working towards a fairer world was both empowering and exciting. There was amazing energy pulsating throughout the building all weekend!” - Rosie Wolfenden MBE

THE place to be for spotting your fave feminist icons, your weekend will be jam-packed with panels and talks from greats including writer Roxanne Gay and sexpert Oloni to unmissable workshops including speed mentoring, poetry and jewellery-making… Ooh, what a seamless segway!

Planning to drop by our *heart-eye emoji* pop-up shop at WOW Marketplace? Don’t miss our drop-in Mini Bunting Workshops on Saturday 11th March! Let creative juices flow as you scour our selection of rainbow-bright acrylic flags before learning how to hand-link each piece to a sparkling chain. Will you keep it classic with a nautical number, be inspired by the LGBTQ+ flag or just go full-on glitter? We can’t wait to find out!
