Team Tatty's Get Lippy Run
We are so proud to have taken part in the Get Lippy Run on Sunday 16th May this year, to further raise awareness and funds for The Eve Appeal and their research into the 5 gynaecological cancers - womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal.
Part of The Eve Appeal's mission is to ensure that everyone is aware of what to look out for, because recognising gynaecological cancer symptoms can mean an earlier diagnosis and a better outcome. It's so important to know your normal and especially not to be afraid to ask questions and get bleeding checked! The Eve Appeal runs a nurse-led service called AskEve so get in touch with the lovely Karen and Tracie here if you have any concerns.
We got members of Team Tatty involved in a collective Get Lippy Run covering a distance of 55KM in total - wow!
First up we had Charlotte, Rachel and Fizz walking a distance of 7.4km together in the beautiful Kent countryside. Each wearing their Get Lippy Necklace which also donates 10% of each sale to the charity too!
Amy headed to one of Team Tatty's favourite parks -Victoria Park for a quick sprint around covering a distance of 2km. Liz ditched her usual form of transport, her bicycle, for her trainers to do a quick 5.5km around some lovely London woodlands. Lucy took to the River Lea in Hackney Marshes for a peaceful (or was that painful?) 6.5km run between the rain showers!
Go Team Tatty! With everyone's individual runs so far we've now covered 36km!! We're still collecting donations for The Eve Appeal via our JustGiving page here. Help us reach our target by donating via the fundraiser or purchase our Get Lippy Necklace to also donate £2.50.
Get Lippy Necklace - donating 10% for each necklace sold
Team Tatty were on fire!! We only meant to cover a distance of 50km but you just couldn't stop us. In total with Chris (our resident regular runner) popping out for a casual 7.2km run, Harriet and Rosie completing 3 miles each, and our lovely Katie going out for a quick 2.9km we came in at a total of 55km! High fives all round!
We'd be so grateful for any donations made our JustGiving page to support The Eve Appeal and their Get Lippy campaign or any purchases of our Get Lippy Necklace.
Please give The Eve Appeal a follow on Instagram and share their important messages on the 5 gynaecological cancers to help raise awareness of the signs and symptoms and ultimately help save lives.
