CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF AMELIA'S MAGAZINE

Earlier this month we hosted a party to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Amelia's Magazine, with the launch of her new book, That Which We Do Not Understand, and pop up exhibition at our Brick Lane store.

That Which We Do Not Understand is a limited edition artists’ book, featuring artwork and writing from over 90 creative contributors from across the globe, crowdfunded by 450 backers on Kickstarter. The exhibition showcases 16 of the stunning artworks from the book, alongside the cover image of flaming meteors, all resplendent with gold leaf.

The exhibition is on display at our Brick Lane store until 5th January. Check out some snaps below or watch our video from the night.

All artwork is available to purchase in limited runs of 10, but you'll need to be quick as many have been snapped up already! Pop into our Brick Lane store to view the exhibition and grab those last minute Christmas presents.

About the exhibition:

The theme of #TWWDNU was inspired by Amelia’s personal experience of two late miscarriages and explores the many ways in which humans seek to understand the things that they don’t understand in their lives: think Mysticism, Spirituality, Alchemy, Paganism, Witchcraft, Herbalism, Shamanism, Magick, Voodoo, Folklore, Occult, Esotericism, Tarot, Astrology, Animal Spirits, Paranormal activities, the Moon and much more. The book features exclusive artworks inspired by That Which We Do Not Understand, interspersed with short stories, flash fiction and poetry. These beautiful, inspiring and thought provoking contributions collectively question and celebrate the miraculousness of life, and some of the finest artworks appear in the exhibition.
