How It's Made: Acid Cherry Blossom Jewellery
August 13, 2018 - Charlotte Prichard
Every fashionista knows that florals are this season's sweetest accessory. Forget ditsy prints: we want flowers with serious power. Celebrate the (late) arrival of spring with our bold new Acid Cherry Blossom jewellery. Take a look behind the scenes at the creation of the collection and fall for these seriously on-trend blooms: The collection began, as all Tatty Devine collections do, in our Creative Director Harriet's sketchbook. Harriet puts her pen to paper and creates the first outline of a future piece of jewellery. Inspired by Japanese cherry blossom festivals, she designed a series of offbeat blooms shot through with a bright burst of fluorescent pink:
Each flower and its stamen is lasercut from Tyvek, a material that looks like paper but is super strong, combining the properties of paper and cloth. The Tyvek is specially printed with a fluoro spraypaint pattern, and the flowers are topped with iridescent Swarovski Elements beads:
