"Hackney WickED Art Festival turns six this weekend - it's without doubt one of London's most uniquely creative events. Over 3 days, studios throw their doors open and local artists exhibit their work. I personally love exploring the galleries and seeing artists in their own studios... you get a real insight into their worlds. Last year, one of my favourite areas was buskers' corner where you could catch various performances of live music and spoken word. The only downside to Hackney WickED is that there is too much to see and not enough time to see everything!

I fell in love with The Cygnet's sunny terrace on a Sunday afternoon whilst enjoying a craft beer (brewed literally next door!) and listening to some live music. The bar overlooks the canal and Olympic stadium, but my absolute favourite part has to be the gigantic sparkling 'YES' sign that seems to live here when it's not at the Secret Garden Party festival.

Grab a beanbag and get comfy to enjoy a film at The Yard... or you can choose a tiered seat if you prefer. This intimate space plays host to a range of events including theatre, comedy and film screenings. Or you can dance a Friday night away to DJs in the bar area.

Number 90 has become a bit of a favourite spot for me with its fusion tapas, tasty cocktails and exhibits of local artists work. It's a huge airy bar & restaurant right beside the canal, with a sunny decked area. I even managed to jump onboard a rowing boat there recently for a little jaunt down the canal!

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is right on Hackney Wick's doorstep and is perfect for a Sunday afternoon adventure. If there's not a specific event on (there often is, so check), exploring their Art Trail is fun and swimming at The London Aquatics Centre is a must for everyone!"
