Let’s Get Lippy

Let’s Get Lippy

We headed over to bustling Knightsbridge's Harvey Nichols on Wednesday morning for a very special breakfast and panel. As commuters bustled between tube stops beneath our feet, Team Tatty hopped in a lift up to the Fifth Floor for a morning of frank discussion, facts, camaraderie, and belly laughs courtesy of the Eve Appeal, the UK’s only charity raising awareness and funding research into the five gynaecological cancers.

Once perched on burnt orange and pale pink velvet sofas (comfort first, obvs!), we got to grips with the facts behind the Eve Appeal's #GetLippy campaign. Did you know that new research shows that women are potentially putting their lives at risk because they don't have the right language to about their bodies with doctors? It's just not okay, and so #GetLippy is here to inform women about anatomy and symptoms to look out for in order to better diagnose key health concerns, including the five gynaecological cancers. Say them with us, "womb, ovarian, cervical, vaginal and vulval." Yep, we're not letting you forget about them anytime soon!

"This campaign is a really important one: it's very literal. We want YOU to #GetLippy this May to support medical prevention of gynaecological cancers!" - Athena Stevens, CEO of the Eve Appeal

"We have to also talk to men about this because when we're talking about women's health it's in our collective interest to do better. You can only get things done by working with other people." - Jackie Doyle-Price MP

We even spotted our Dental Bling Vase lookin' fancy alongside the esteemed panel as they got lippy about the stigma around the menopause, the relation of frankness and better care received as a result and 'being gobby and supportive.'

#GetLippy has really resonated with us as an all-female team, so we’ve teamed up with the Eve Appeal to help you get your our pucker on in support of their incredible campaign. For the entire month of May this year, from the 1st to the 31st, we're donating £2 per Lipstick Kiss Necklace sold to support the Eve Appeal in their vital work. That's in both colourways: sparkling Glitter Red and glossy Mirror Red, phew!

So put your pocket money where your pout is and work a little laser cut jewellery for an amazing cause in time for Lippy Day on May 17th. Find out more about the Eve Appeal here, or #GetLippy and shop the Lipstick Kiss Necklace now!
