HEY FLO! WHEN DID YOUR MAKING JOURNEY BEGIN?

Well, I've made jewellery for myself since I was 12 years old! I'm a bit of a magpie and so it began with collecting bits and bobs from around the house that I would just stick a chain on and voila! Not that far removed from Harriet and Rosie's early forays into jewellery making, to be honest... I scavenged a rubber duck to make into a necklace, earrings made from Barbie shoes and broken old headphones, and a HUGE pendant I made from a White Stripes 7" vinyl record I got free with a copy of NME (RIP). I didn't even listen to it, I just thought it made me look cool... shhh! I was a very pretentious teenager, haha!

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE THING TO MAKE? 

My favourite thing to make? It has to be our cheeky Swarovski crystal-studded Giant Lobster Necklace... I'm a sucker for sparkles! We listen to music when we're making all the jewellery so there are often lots of little claws snapping in time to the beat!

WHAT DOES OUR #CAMPAIGNFORCREATIVITY MEAN TO YOU?

I'm so pleased we've teamed up with the Crafts Council to support their Make Your Future programme and spread the word about craft. Creativity of any form is so important in education but also into adulthood. I'm a firm believer in making as therapy!

A LITTLE BIRD TOLD US YOU'RE A PRETTY TALENTED SINGER... WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE MUSIC TO MAKE TO?

Anything I can sing along to! I'm very 'Top 40' but I also have a weakness for classic rock, too! We also have team singalongs, I already looking forward to getting started on our Christmas pieces: making festive jewellery whilst everyone's belting out carols is so much fun!

OK, HOW DO YOU GET CREATIVE WHEN YOU'RE NOT AT TATTY DEVINE?

When I'm not overseeing our hectic making schedule and polishing Planets Statement Necklaces, I like to get crafty at home. I got married a couple of months ago and whilst it was a little stressful at times, I really found my joy in making ALL of our decorations! Our table runners were lolly sticks painstakingly spray painted in pastel and neon colours, there were personalised nameplates and tons of tiny tassels. Phew, it was so worth it in the end!
