About Us

We are the world's go-to brand for original and fun statement jewellery! Established in 1999 in the heart of East London by founders Harriet and Rosie - fresh from art school and with “no intention of getting real jobs" - our jewellery soon achieved a cult following with fans that are still standing with us 25 years later.

Tatty Devine jewellery was born from Rosie and Harriet’s frustration at the lack of interesting and accessible jewellery available. As Harriet recalls “there was nothing exciting out there so we just made our own!” The DIY approach with an anarchic streak and roots in punk resonated with an industry and public hungry for something different to the commercialised, mass-produced, poor quality products on offer. Turning throwaway objects like scraps of leather and guitar plectrums into jewellery not only landed the brand in Vogue magazine but also in the hearts of loyal fans all over the world. Our iconic guitar plectrum motif was so successful, it can still be found on our chains twenty-five years later, immortalised as a metal logo! Now that’s a smash hit...

Fast forward to today, where we now create around 300 new jewellery designs every year, from trend-led capsule collections to limited edition masterpieces, showcasing our advanced techniques in acrylic jewellery design and production.

Alongside our classic, limited edition and seasonal capsule collections, we love to collaborate with artists, designers, charitable institutions and our favourite cultural spaces. Most recently, partnerships with World Book Day, Bowie, Frida Kahlo and Terrence Higgins Trust have emerged fresh from the laser cutter.

All Tatty Devine jewellery is designed and handmade in house by a small, skilled team of makers with a passion for art jewellery within the UK. We work hard to ensure that every piece boasts the quality and unique stamp that's become synonymous with the label.

Meet Rosie and Harriet, Co-founders of Tatty Devine

Meet Our Co-Founders

Behind every great brand is a great woman and in our case at Tatty Devine, two great women! Our co-founders Rosie and Harriet not only co-founded the brand 25 years ago, but have been at the helm of the company ever since, driving the brand forward with original ideas, creative passion and business savvy.

The feminist duo met while studying Fine Art at Chelsea School of Art, and became fast friends after moving in together. Tatty Devine came about after they graduated and has been the root of many of their achievements over the years that followed. From collaborations with industry greats, and seals of approval from those who make them feel starstruck to receiving MBEs for their contributions to fashion, the last 25+ years have been a flurry of dreams coming true. Meet the women behind Tatty Devine…

Harriet Vine MBE

Creative Director

Harriet lives in Clapton with her daughter and Instagram famous kitten, Tiger. A collector of oversized objects d'art; from faux fruit to super sized stationary, she also enjoys tracking down fanzines, rollerskating and exploring every colour of the rainbow through hair dye...

“I have a love of bright, shiny objects that stems from Rosie and I digging around in flea markets in Paris and Berlin in 1999. We found a way to attach all the crazy, colourful things we found to ourselves and wore it out that night… you could say it was the beginning of everything!”

A Belle and Sebastian super-fan she also enjoys discovering new favourite bands, going wild in the country (she loves being in nature... oh, and BOW WOW WOW!), trawling through charity shops and dreaming up exciting ways to celebrate culture and creativity through jewellery.
