Bye Bye, Bowie!
Calling all David Bowie fans! Our fan-favourite collaboration, Tatty Devine X David Bowie will be exiting stage left soon. Don't miss out and celebrating a pop culture icon in style with a sprinkle of Ziggy Stardust.

Since 1999, our Co-Founders Rosie and Harriet have been united in a love of music, art, and the avant-garde. From electro-rocker-queen Peaches to twee pop darlings Belle and Sebastian, our musical heroes have been a key source of inspiration over the last 20 years (discover our original Tatty Devine plectrum jewellery here!). If we’re not bopping to our new fave bands whilst we design your jewellery, we’re jumping up and down at gigs and swapping tips on upcoming bands. Yes, music and Tatty Devine are intrinsically linked - and this year, one of our biggest muso dreams finally came true. We were over the moon to be invited by the Bowie Archive to create a unique jewellery collection to celebrate 50 years since one of our favourite David Bowie albums, Hunky Dory, first launched.

“Diving into the David Bowie archive was amazing. Our mission was to reimagine iconic moments from his albums and costumes through the Tatty Devine lens. We spent hours relistening to those legendary lyrics, poring over Bowie’s swoon-worthy costumes and makeup across his eras, and translating his groundbreaking exploration of identity and gender into some of our most ambitious pieces of jewellery ever.”
Rosie Wolfenden and Harriet Vine, Tatty Devine Co-Founders

Hundreds of hours of research, many, many initial designs, and countless impromptu studio dance parties later, we’re proud to present Tatty Devine X David Bowie - as seen in Wallpaper, The Guardian and the Evening Standard. Shop the full fifteen-piece collection online here, in our Covent Garden store, and at various leading stockists including Bowie 75 pop-ups in London and New York and coming soon to Berlin, too.

Inside The Collection
Destined to take you straight to the main stage, celebrate Brixton’s own rock star’s 75th birthday with glossy laser cut glitter red and blue bolts, shimmering hand curved starman helmets, and glistening pink glitter Suffragette City banners. As ever, every single necklace, brooch, and earring set is designed in East London and handmade by our brilliant team of makers in Kent.

We couldn’t create a tribute to the man himself without taking on the ultimate Bowie emblem: the iconic vivid lightning bolt flash. Painted by Pierre La Roche for the cover of David Bowie’s sixth studio album, "Aladdin Sane", we’ve created a sparkling homage in the Aladdin Sane Bolt Necklace, Aladdin Sane Bolt Earrings, and Aladdin Sane Bolt Brooch, laser cut in electric blue and red glitter acrylic. Statement lover? Set the world on fire in the Aladdin Sane Statement Necklace, as modelled by our Creative Director and resident Bowie lover, Harriet. Fun fact: she hopped straight on her bicycle after shooting this and rode all the way from Dalston to Islington still in her makeup. If you thought you spotted Bowie flying along Kingsland Road that day on two wheels, it wasn’t a total dream!

Up your accessories game in the Rebel Rebel Earrings, a twinkling constellation of glitter gold acrylic stars, laser cut, and hand linked to create the ultimate party earrings. The finishing touch? Bold letters spelling out “rebel rebel”, a siren call to all David Bowie fans, music lovers, and out-of-this-world eccentrics. Pair with the Bowie Star Pendant, a shimmering ode to the people’s starman, strung from a glistening gold-tone chain. The perfect present for any Bowie lover (self-gifting absolutely counts), this astral accessory is laser cut in gleaming glitter gold acrylic and etched to bear the iconic Bowie logo across its celestial surface. From Brixton to Berlin: this dazzling piece will turn heads wherever you go.

Dancing out in space? Our Life On Mars? Brooch is the perfect gift for a David Bowie fan. Channel the man who fell to earth in richly marbled burgundy acrylic, laser cut in the optical illusion of a planet. This seemingly spherical mars red brooch is topped with a miniature rose gold rocket and etched with the eponymous song title. More is more? Team with the Bowie Necklace for maximum 70s styling or serve celestial shine in the impossibly chic Space Oddity Necklace, designed to mimic an astronaut’s helmet.

Turn up your favourite David Bowie songs and go bold in the Ziggy Suit Necklace. Designed especially for the Ziggy Stardust's lengthy world tour, running 1972-73, by master costumier Kansai Yamamoto, the Ziggy Heart Necklace is also an ode to his stage-worthy vinyl jumpsuits captured imaginations worldwide. We’ve always loved this look and our obsession reached new heights when we visited the Victoria and Albert Museum’s blockbuster exhibition, David Bowie Is, in 2013. We managed to sneak two tickets for a private viewing before the museum opened to the public, and after winding our way through the hushed, dimly lit gallery, stood in awe in front of this costume in the flesh. Give us a shout if you visited too!

Inspired by Bowie’s 40-year strong collaboration with photographer Masayoshi Sukita, prowl the runway in luxe wild cats: the Bowie Tiger Necklace and Bowie Tiger Brooch. Inspired by their roaring 1973 photoshoot dressed by Kansai Yamamoto,  strike a pose in laser cut in marbled caramel acrylic, expertly hand pieced together to mimic flexing white pearl claws, snarling blood-red jaws, and darkly glamorous amber crystal eyes.

Leafing through your collection of David Bowie albums? Reach for ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust’, best turned up LOUD and paired with the Suffragette City Necklace: reimagined in the image of subtly shimmering banner, its details picked out in laser cut and hand layered pearlescent and glitter pink acrylic. Tatty Devine pub quiz prep: this piece is a subtle call back to one of our favourite ever pieces, created in celebration of Suffragette, Millicent Fawcett.
