Inside Lisa Jones's studio!
Lisa Jones Meet Lisa Jones, the lovely lady whose cute greetings cards we sell. We visited Lisa in her Hackney Wick studio during the Hackney Wicked festival to pick up one of her much-coveted New York Herald Tribune t-shirts, based on the t-shirt worn by Jean Seberg in ultra-cool 1960s movie Breathless. We used to sell these in our Brick Lane shop but they're now all sold out - this was one of the last ever! nyherald-web We got it for a friend who is going to give it to his new girlfriend who is  a big fan of Breathless. It's always nice to see where things are actually made, particularly when they are made by hand. Lisa moved her studio into Hackney Wick last year, and works completely independently with a tiny team. Her studio is full of screenprinting equipment, because she prints all of her cards and most other products by hand in the studio. A big vintage wooden plan chest holds larger prints and posters, and vintage wire pigeonholes hold a myriad of bright greetings cards, ready to send out to her stockists around the world! She's always creating new designs so we often chop and change which cards we carry - here are some of our favourites: So next time you send a Lisa Jones card you'll know where it was made and who made it. We always love working with other creative, independent British businesses like Lisa's. Each card is a miniature work of art (particularly the ones with goggly eyes stuck on!).
