A Devine 2023: Wrapped

It’s that time again! Join us as we reminisce on another year of Tatty Devine magic, made possible by our amazing community. Let’s get into it…

JANUARY

Starting the year as we meant to go on, we added a serious splash of colour to the lives of jewellery lovers worldwide with SS23’s Kaleidoscope of Love. As seen in The Guardian, this ode to all our Co-Founder's, Rosie and Harriet’s favourite things embodied dopamine dressing: brimming with colour-pop takes on vine tomatoes, pastel poodles, joyful florals, and magical folklore.

Our full-colour spectrum of shade-inspired accessories launched in-store under the glow of our rainbow tent installation, as we treated a handful of our most colourful friends to a VIP peek at prismatic newness! Head to our Instagram to relive the launch party and reminisce over vibrant limited-edition jewellery.

FEBRUARY

Bursting with covetable and cute jewellery that you certainly loved to the moon and back, our must-have In a Pickle Necklace is now a classic Tatty Devine present and can be found in our Best Sellers collection

Trend-lover? Give logomania a chance! Our laser cut Name Necklace made the pages of Red Magazine alongside Gucci X Adidas, as a bright, bold topper for every look. Flex your creative skills and choose from 30+ colours of acrylic including glitter, mirror, and recycled shades, five characterful fonts, and two styles of silver-plated and gold-plated chains to make a unique treat for yourself or a very good gift. MARCH

Beginning with Jurassic jewellery and launching our first collaborative collection of 2023 along the way: we marched straight into the third month of the year with a gang of glossy Dinosaurs by our side. Inspired by our iconic design archive, we harked back to 2004 with our instantly-recognisable laser cut Dinosaur Necklace, reworked in a rainbow of FOURTEEN fresh colours of acrylic. Missed this? Shop pre-historic pieces online now!

Lovers of the Sparkling Heart Emoji, this one’s for you! Ahead of Rachel Maclean’s successful solo show ‘If it looks like a duck…’ at Kunstpalais Erlangen, Germany, the Scottish artist Maclean and Gallery Director, Amely Deiss birthed the idea for our first official collaboration of the year, Tatty Devine X Rachel Maclean. Designed alongside Maclean and drawing on inspiration from the saccharine sweet colour-pop palette of her upside mimi ᴉɯᴉɯ uʍop installation at Jupiter Artland in Edinburgh, hyper real motifs met glossy laser cut acrylic to create head-turning collectable art jewellery for art lovers and bold dressers alike..

APRIL

Enter, ARCHIVE: a retrospective collection. Calling upon the most special of guests from friends and Tatty icons, artist Rob Ryan kicked off a triptych of limited edition ARCHIVE designs hand-plucked from two decades of original art jewellery.

Fifteen years on from our first collaboration with printmaker Rob, we toasted to new beginnings from engagements to first homes and more with two romantic accessories, handcrafted from laser cut wood and Formica. Fly into ARCHIVE with our Rob Ryan Adventure Nest Necklace and Rob Ryan Adventure Egg Earrings.

MAY

Ahead of Pride Month, May saw the launch of our party-ready piece in support of the UK’s leading HIV and sexual health charity, Terrence Higgins Trust, £5 per necklace sold is donated to the charity. Having been there for people living with HIV since 1982, the charity is working to reach the life-changing goal of ending new HIV cases in the UK by 2030. Show your support with our Shooting Star Necklaces in Glitter Rainbow now!

JUNE

Maybe the coolest month in Tatty Devine history: a dream came true for our superfan and music-loving Creative Director, Harriet Vine MBE. Two words… PULP JEWELLERY! With a summer jam-packed with live shows ahead of them, iconic indie band Pulp called on us to design unmissable reunion-ready band merch to commemorate their This Is What We Do For An Encore tour. Rocking the UK from the shores of Scarborough to the Isle of Wight (where you may have spotted Harriet and Rosie dancing in the crowd!) and London’s Finsbury Park, Tatty Devine X Pulp is a true Tatty dream come true.

From Hamnet by Maggie O Farrell to Susannah Clarke’s Piranesi: turn the page on book-inspired looks with Tatty Devine X Women's Prize for Fiction. We teamed up with the Women’s Prize for Fiction to ask our communities which previous winners’ novels should be transformed into pint-size pendants. JULY

Flat feet, 3D jewellery: as Barbiemania hit worldwide, we honoured Director Greta Gerwig’s highly-anticipated release with a statement jewellery edit fit for every doll! Inspired by Barbie’s on-screen love for quirky plastic jewellery we just had to bring back our iridescent Moon Jellyfish Statement Necklace, now in Silver Dust. Still living in a Barbie world? Catch up with the movie’s Costume Designer here and shop the matching Moon Jellyfish Earrings now!

AUGUST

Feeling flush: we were thrilled to debut our exclusive collaboration with performance artist Silvia Ziranek, the second launch of ARCHIVE.  We originally collaborated with Ziranek in 2011 on a bespoke, one-off pair of sparkling Toilet Flush Earrings, making their theatrical debut at the  Wellcome Collection’s Dirt exhibition. Fast forward 12 years and a star turn in our Crafts Council ‘Misshapes: The Making of Tatty Devine’ Book, exhibition, and the wishlists of jewellery lovers worldwide, we were thrilled to present this very special conceptual capsule collection: the NOT UNDIRTY Earrings and brand spanking new NOT UNDIRTY Pendant.

New for AW23: Pigments and potions, spellbinding florals, and soothsaying essentials. We embraced mysticism with our limited edition collection, Enchanted Folk. Designed to infuse your jewellery collection with odes to feminine power, Creative Director Harriet explored the true stars of tarot including occultist Pamela Colman Smith, alchemists that made the impossible possible, and ethereal ‘evidence’ of the otherworldly: reimagined as covetable necklaces, earrings, brooches, and rings. SEPTEMBER

So long, Monmouth Street. In a month where we launched go-to gothic jewellery, georgian firework-inspired designs, and new statement scarves with Miss Pompom, there was one topic on everyone’s lips… After 14 years, we said an unexpected goodbye to our Monmouth Street store, leaving the West End slightly less joyful as our departure sparked support from fellow independent brands, retail experts Mary Portas and Holly Tucker, MBE, and a feature in the The Times, too. Silver linings ahead! Read on to find out about our new West London location, now open!

OCTOBER

October saw out-of-this-world designs launching into the Tatty-verse! Stargazers take note: planet jewellery and Starman-inspired accessories never looked so good… As seen in The Guardian, limited edition Cosmic Planets returned from our jewel-encrusted 2013 collection, Sky Lab as a 3-D masterpiece, reimagined through the lens of a decade of laser cutting progression and honed jewellery making techniques.

"Oh! You Pretty Thing." The stage is set for the return of Tatty Devine X Bowie !. We celebrated in style with a pop-up shop and party at Adorn the Common in Chalk Farm, where we sipped XOXO drinks, discussed our go-to Bowie track and  unveiled our second official David Bowie collaboration to the world! Paying homage to album Hunky Dory, beloved cover art, and those iconic, timeless lightning bolts - it’s time to discover the world of David Bowie jewellery.

DECEMBER

Rounding up a year of ARCHIVE: we called upon another friend to end 2023 with a majestic statement necklace fit for a queen! Jools Walker, pioneering blogger, writer, and forever style inspiration, joined Creative Director, Harriet Vine MBE in our East London studio to reimagine an AW17 Tatty Devine design in a limited edition colourway that is sure to ruffle a few feathers. Meet the White Peacock Statement Necklace: an odyssey of curated shimmering shades of white and glossy jewel-toned acrylic, accented with delicately hand-inked plumage.

What a year it’s been, thank you for supporting our female-founded independent business and here’s to another fabulous year in 2024!

Happy New Year, love Team Tatty x
