TATTY DEVINE FOR JOHN LEWIS SUNGLASSES REVEALED!

It's 2011 and we've just released a sunglasses line for none other than John Lewis... fast forward to 2025 and even more sunglasses have entered the Tatty Devine universe, check them out here

Take a trip down memory lane with this retro blog!

Limited edition and featured in Vogue, here's our Co-founder, Rosie, rocking her polkadot frames.

John Lewis invited Tatty Devine, along with Eley Kishimoto, Beatrix Ong and Todd Lynn, to create a pair of limited edition sunglasses.

We decided to design our sunglasses to look like a bow tie, inspired by our iconic Bow Tie Ring and Necklace. Here's our mood board, with the glasses mocked up on some of our favourite ladies:

The final shape has an oversized 1970s feel, with the angles of a cat's eye lens. When you put them on top of your head, they look like a big bow in your hair. Harriet demonstrates:

Black was an obvious colourway for the sunglasses (although production issues meant it didn't happen in the end). We toyed with leopard print, too, but in the end it had to be classic red and white polka dots. How great would they look on a picnic with matching plastic tumblers?

Here are Team Tatty modelling the shades:

One of our favourite details is the curved arms with ends shaped like ribbons:

Can't wait to wear them on holiday this summer! What do you think of the design?
