NEW: March of the Dinosaurs
Time to bone up: we’ve dug deep into our extensive jewellery design archive to reimagine our signature Tatty Devine Dinosaur Necklace in a rainbow of FOURTEEN fresh colours! First seen in 2004, this cult classic statement necklace was inspired by epic dinosaur skeletons suspended in the National History Museum - our Co-Founders Rosie and Harriet thought they looked like giant beads threaded onto string!
Our mighty dinosaur design has gone on to delight jewellery lovers worldwide: serving face on Ru Paul’s Drag Race, going back to back with super DJ Lauren Laverne on BBC 6 Music and raising funds for vital organisation Not A Phase. Fast forward to 2023 and there’s a fabulous new flock ready and raring to keep our classic Dinosaur Necklace company: budding palaeontologists be standing for our very special March of the Dinosaurs collection.
Our hand drilled and beaded Dinosaur Necklaces were first made in a trio of classic statement shades: black, white or fresh lime green (PLUS an extra special sample in orange just for Rosie - as seen in our Misshapes book!)
In the early days, this was a technically challenging piece to make and so, we’d have ‘dino days’ in our studio where all the bones would be laid in a circle on a table that we’d walk around, making up each necklace as we went and finishing them with miniscule beads until TA-DA: our flock of T-Rexs were complete. Ahhh, memories!
These days, our refreshed dinosaurs are laser cut and hand linked together by our talented team of makers in our Kent studio, with each dino strung from a glistening silver-tone chain to sit ‘just so’. And yes, Team Tatty are still known to boogie around our workstations of an afternoon!
"When we came up with the Dinosaur Necklace, we were obsessed with the idea of articulation. It was a really ambitious and experimental process to design it." - Co-Founder, Harriet Vine MBE
“There's only one thing more exciting than a Tatty Devine Dinosaur Necklace, and that's a pack of Dinos in every colour of the rainbow!” - Rosie Wolfenden, MBE
