John Lewis invited Tatty Devine, along with Eley Kishimoto, Beatrix Ong and Todd Lynn, to create a pair of limited edition sunglasses. We decided to design our sunglasses to look like a bow tie, inspired by our Bow Tie Necklace and Ring. Here's our mood board, with the glasses mocked up on some of our favourite ladies: Tatty Devine moodboard for John Lewis sunglasses The final shape has an oversized 1970s feel, with the angles of a cats eye lens. When you put them on top of your head, they look like a big bow in your hair. Harriet demonstrates: Harriet Vine in Tatty Devine for John Lewis sunglasses Black was an obvious colourway for the sunglasses (although production issues meant it didn't happen in the end). We toyed with leopard print, too, but in the end it had to be classic red and white polka dots. How great would they look on a picnic with matching plastic tumblers?
