How It's Made: Summer Exclusive Parakeet Large Necklace
Well, hello summer! The temperatures are rising and we're ready for the heat with a very special collection of summer exclusives. Meet the latest addition to our parakeet flock: the Parakeet Large Necklace in Fluoro Pink. Our classic design comes in a brand new neon shade, perfect for festivals, beach parties and laid back evenings in the park. Rosie explains, "The Parakeet Large Necklace came about as we wanted to make something out of the fluoro pink perspex that appears in our S/S13 collection. It's just so amazing, it deserves to be a whole piece!" The Parakeet Necklace originally appeared as part of our exotic S/S12 collection, alongside our Frida NecklaceMexican Embroidery Necklace and Sugar Skull Ring. It quickly became a Tatty Devine favourite and now appears in our Classic collection in gleaming emerald green and gold mirror perspex. Join us as we go behind the scenes at Tatty Devine HQ to discover how this summery statement necklace is made: Over eighteen individual parakeet pieces are laser cut in our studio from a sheet of fluoro pink perspex. They might look a little strange now, but these shapes will become the body and feathers of our parakeet! Using golden jump rings and a detailed plan, our skilled studio team deftly wield pliers to give our parakeets wings! A fluoro citrus perspex beak is carefully attached with a golden jump ring for an extra pop of colour. Each parakeet has its protective film peeled and is gently cleaned and polished by our studio team: Ta-da! Ruffle feathers this summer and add the the Parakeet Large Necklace in Fluoro Pink to your collection now. Treat yourself to a cute small Parakeet Necklace in the new colour way, too.
