“I prefer liberty to chains of diamonds.” Lady Mary Wortley Montagu’s rallying cry against the trappings of aristocracy are represented in the infinitely wearable Liberty Pearl Pendant, a contemporary take on traditional jewellery motifs. A lady of letters and trailblazer of Western medicine, Lady Mary’s words of wisdom are expertly laser etched and hand-inked into the surface of a mesmerising pearlescent acrylic sphere, hand curved to mimic its namesake and suspended from an adjustable gold-tone chain.
Inspired by conceptual artist Gillian Wearing CBE's bronze statue of British suffragist leader Millicent Fawcett, lift spirits in the Courage Calls Necklace. Etched and hand-inked, this perfect feminist present is adorned with an extract from Fawcett’s 1920 speech following the death of suffragette Emily Wilding Davison. And yes, it’s that necklace from QI’s viral behind-the-scenes TikTok video, skip to 00.59 for the good stuff.
Regarded as a significant figure in the Surrealism movement, Frida Kahlo defied gender stereotypes to be the first 20th-century Mexican artist who’s work was purchased by a major international museum. Channel the exuberant colours of La Casa Azul with our Frida Kahlo Charm Earrings, each bearing the letters of Kahlo’s first name in a rainbow palette of laser cut acrylic, suspended from lacework-style centers.
Worn by Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin on TV’s Question Time, this powerful pearlescent statement necklace is the perfect feminist birthday present or ‘just because’ gift! Designed in collaboration with Equality Now, £3.75 ($5) per piece sold is donated to Equality Now in support of their vital work raising funds, awareness, and champion equal rights for women and girls worldwide.
