Women of Wonder Festival 2022
WOW! We can't believe it's been a week since we were celebrating International Women’s Day 2022 at the iconic Southbank Centre, London with a whole host of amazing, inspiring and down-right cool people at the Women of the World Festival 2022. For those not in the know, WOW is the world’s biggest, most comprehensive festival celebrating women, girls and non-binary people and we were thrilled to make our WOW Marketplace debut amongst diverse women and non-binary-led businesses and activist organisations.
We like to think of WOW as the 'feminist Glastonbury', and this year was no different with a jam-packed weekend of panels, workshops and talks with feminist icons including Bridget Christie, Angela Davis and Deborah Frances-White. So, with arms full of acrylic protest jewellery (hello, our new collaboration with Equality Now) we headed down to the WOW Marketplace at the Royal Festival Hall for three days of life-changing conversations, incredible performances and yes - Mother's Day shopping!
Just look at our stand! *heart eye emoji*
Shall we hear from Team Tatty and their best bits of the weekend? I think we should! Let’s kick off proceedings with our Brand and Sales Manager, Charlotte P, who took the lead on a weekend of wonder…
“We were so proud to make our WOW Marketplace debut and showcase our new collaboration with Equality Now. The energy was incredible, amazing conversations were had and friendships made: special shoutout to our neighbours, &SISTERS and Janet's List for bringing the vibes!”
Just showing off our NEW collaboration, #TattyDevineXEqualityNow!
Sad that she can’t spend every day of the year at WOW Festival, it sounds like our Creative Director, Harriet Vine MBE had the BEST time…
“Bridget Christie was so funny! There was such a great vibe - the Royal Festival Hall really buzzes over the WOW weekend. I love bumping into friends, meeting new ones and I always love seeing Jude doing her thing!”
Always time for a photo op! Miranda from Book Love came dressed to impress in our Pen Nib Earrings and a vintage AW12 Leopard Head Brooch (all her own!)
(Wo)Manning the stall on Sunday and serving looks as always, it was Design Assistant Meg’s first visit to WOW…
“The exciting energy and amazing kindness from everyone was really wonderful. I particularly loved the band Break Up Haircuts performance with some fab and funny underlying messages.”
Oh hey, of course, we bumped into mega babe Sophie, co-founder of sustainable fashion brand Birdsong.
Last but not least, it’s time for the hot-take from WOW veteran, Managing Director, Rosie Wolfenden MBE…
“There is nowhere I'd rather have been this weekend than at the WOW festival, being surrounded by women all working towards a fairer world was both empowering and exciting. There was amazing energy pulsating throughout the building all weekend!”
Gosh, we’re excited for next year already! Shop our collaboration with international charity Equality Now online and in-store now - £3.75 ($5) per piece of jewellery sold will be donated to support their essential global work. Find out more here.
