How to make jewellery out of your cracker prizes. Part 2 - Spinning Top Ring
August 13, 2018 - Charlotte Prichard
This is the second in our series on how to make jewellery out of your Christmas cracker prizes. We got a spinning top in our crackers - perfect for making into a cocktail ring!
You'll need:
Pliers
File
Glue (we like Araldite but you could use superglue, contact adhesive or a glue gun)
Used cracker
Cocktail sticks
A disc ring shank
First snap off the centre stick from the spinning top. You can make anything into a ring, but you'll need a flat area to stick the ring shank to.
File off any sharpness.
If you’re using Araldite, mix it up on a bit of used cracker card using a cocktail stick.
Slather a generous amount of glue onto the flattened area of the spinning top and stick it to the ring shank.
To keep the spinning top upright while it dries, rest it on a couple of cocktail sticks. This will stop the ring shank from drying at an odd angle.
Leave to dry overnight. (You can wait for Boxing Day to wear it, right?)
